Budget airline outfits: The ingenious way young travellers save money

For this generation of young people, mastering the art of budgeting has become an essential skill when travelling. Those who were once enthusiastic about flying on budget airlines have recently started discussing a new topic - how to avoid paying luggage fees when flying on low-cost carriers.

Like in many markets, budget airlines in China typically do not offer a free baggage allowance, leaving customers with the options of either travelling light or purchasing an extra baggage allowance. However, there is a loophole in the rules: airlines usually only specify luggage as items like carry-on bags and backpacks that need to be carried separately, excluding clothing worn on the body. As a result, young people have been enthusiastically sharing their "budget airline outfits" online - dressing themselves in layers of clothes to avoid paying additional luggage fees.

1. Some netizens have managed to fit a laptop, an iPad, and two thick books into the hidden pocket of a fishing vest, claiming that it only takes up less than half of the space available.

2. In addition, some netizens have taken it to the next level by wearing their ski suits and stuffing a pillow insides the suits.

3. Friends getting ready for snorkelling put on life jackets, securely bundling the shoes they might need for snorkelling to their chests with the life jacket. Some netizens even came up with a trendy outfit called "fashion wear" by wearing diving goggles on their heads during flights.

4. One netizen shared the the following solution: wearing a combination of six autumn and winter clothing items, including a coat, padded jacket, vest, and down inner lining.

5. Of course, the most shocking solution is the one where all the clothing items are packed into a pair of pants and carried around. From a distance, it looks like someone running around with a "leg" in their hands, resembling a scene from a horror movie.
